Encaustic Painting Workshop with Maria Arvayo (Yoeme)

This two-day workshop is an introduction to encaustic painting and open to beginners as well those with some experience. Encaustic painting utilizes pigmented beeswax. Paint needs to be heated into a liquid to be applied to the surface, the surface is then reheated to fuse the paint. The quality of the surface has a unique sheen and depth. Aside from painting, this medium lends itself well to mixed media, collage, and even sculptural techniques.

Cost without accommodations: $250 per person for members or $275 for nonmembers (includes supplies and lunches)
