A unique basket handwoven by Margert Saraficio of the Tohono O’odham Nation. This basket depicts runners and saguaro cactus. Made in a traditional coiled style. The colors in this basket come from bleached yucca strips, green yucca strips, devils claw for black and red yucca root for red. This basket has an oval shape and measures 8.5″ wide by 4.5″ high.
The Tohono O’odham use a coiled method in making their baskets relying on the natural colors of the plants. They live in the Sonoran Desert of the Southwest.
