Research Mission

Amerind Research Mission

Amerind founder William Shirley Fulton envisioned Amerind as a Research Center and that vision has continued to today. Originally Amerind conducted archaeological excavations throughout southeastern Arizona and in Chihuahua, Mexico, at the site of Paquimé. Those excavations have formed the basis for understanding how ancient peoples lived in our borderlands region.

Today scholars meet for advanced research seminars, conduct research in our collections and archives, and analyze the botanical and geological resources on our campus.

Research informs all that we do at Amerind from our exhibits to our public programing to public education. If you are a scholar interested in organizing an advanced research seminar at Amerind contact us at amerind@amerind.org or using our collections or our campus for research contact us at ekaldahl@amerind.org.
