Research

Goal: $1,610,000

With over 40,000 cultural objects in our collections and expertise from more than 500 global scholars and Indigenous thinkers, our Research Pillar informs all that we do at Amerind from exhibits to public programing. Our collections are growing in impactful ways, such as the Vander Wagen Family Collection–over 10,000 jewelry items that share the story of 100 years of Zuni and Navajo artistry and tradition. Your gift to the Research Pillar builds on museum collections, research library, museum exhibits, educational programs and outreach, and scholarly discoveries in the vast human story.

Arts

Goal: $285,000

Our Arts Pillar shares beauty, inspiration, connection, and helps us process complex topics through art. Economic and visibility opportunities for Indigenous artists alongside American Western art appreciation shape Arts Pillar themes. Your gift to the Arts Pillar most directly benefits artists and the connections between our audiences and dynamic Indigenous communities.

Nature

Goal: $750,000

The Amerind museum campus is 1,900 acres of pristine high desert grasslands and striking granite boulders. Mostly private property throughout our history, we are expanding in big ways towards broader public access and opportunities to enjoy our beautiful natural resource. Your gift to the Texas Canyon Nature Preserve will help us share even more of our breathtaking environment with you.

Preservation

Goal: $1,355,000

With ongoing restoration and modernization needs, Amerind’s historic facilities are a treasure to be preserved. Built between 1930 and 1958, our buildings are a masterpiece of Spanish Colonial Revival design. Your Preservation gift supports the care, restoration, and improvements for our Historic Buildings and campus facilities with dreams of NEW facilities impacting collections, exhibits, and visitation.
