Join Amerind as we welcome author Violet Duncan (Plains Cree of Kehewin Cree Nation and Taino) for an online children’s book reading. After becoming a mother of four, Violet saw a need for Native American representation in literature. She took it upon herself to author three children’s books; I am Native, When We Dance, and Let’s Hoop Dance! She is now a featured storyteller at national, as well as international festivals and is currently a professor at the South Mountain Community College: Storytelling Institute.
